Welcome to ArtMoonKi

Please peruse my paintings and let me know what you think of them. I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoyed painting them.

Fairyland paintings

Hi there.

One of my dear friends Jen (hi there!) asked me to do a couple of paintings for her and simply said what colours she wanted. I decided to try something a little different, and the results are to the right in the fairyland page. As you will see there is something of the surreal about them with crazy colours, purple toadstools and a mix of gold and silver leaf. I hope you like them. xxxx

Cockerels, lots of them

Earlier this summer I was compelled to draw a painting suitable for a kitchen. A strange compulsion but hey I like the results, I hope you do too, check it out on the Cockerel page to the right.

My exhibition

Hey there, I have just returned from St James Vaults in Bath where I spent a happy hour or two hammering nails into the walls at the gallery where I am displaying my art for the next two weeks. It felt strange leaving all my work behind me, but I am really pleased with how they look. So if you fancy coming and taking a look, email me at scapechicken@googlemail.com.

New work and a date for your diary

Hello there,

Following a number of requests for paintings I spent a happy week in the garden with my new miniture tip brushes. The results of my "garden time" can be seen on the three new pages I have created and also the new front page painting. Please do take a look and give me a shout if you fancy ordering one yourself.

In other exciting news, I have arranged to display my art in a lovely pub in Bath for two weeks in June (14-28th) so if you fancy a trip to the west country please let me know. More details to follow.....

Where did I get my name?

ArtMoonKi may sound a bit odd at first, but honestly there is method in my madness, I hope this helps explain it.....

(1) This is a blog to share my Art;
(2) Moon was my Mum's nickname and I inherited my love of all things creative from her; and
(3) Ki means "tree" in Japanese and you will see that I take a lot of inspiration from Japanese designs and trees in varying guises so it seemed rather fitting to include.

It is probably worth noting that this blog contains no images of Monkeys, I don't own one and in fact I don't very much like them, so sorry if you've ended up here in the hope of seeing some Monkeys.

Bye for now and if you want to email me about commissioning a painting do email me at
Scapechicken@googlemail.com (I'll explain that one another time).
